China's overload crackdown (治超) punishes the driver, the vehicle owner, the transport company, and the consignor who loaded the vehicle. The limits are GB 1589-2016: per-axle ceilings and a gross-mass table by axle count (25 t for 3 axles up to 49 t for a 6-axle tractor-semitrailer).
